hawaii 2016

2016 marks my fourth visit to the Pineapple State and I have my sister and my brother-in-law to thank for that. Mainly because they live on O’ahu and are willing to house me for free.

My first visit to the 50th state was back in 2011 and was probably my first major trip in life. It was also where I had first got bitten by the so-called travel bug. Before then, I had only ever visited the Northeastern states and Canada. Though Hawaii is a part of the United States, it still seems like a foreign country (4,957 miles from NYC, or an 11 hour flight from JFK, to be exact). They’ve got their own language, culture, customs, and most importantly, cuisine.

So in my next few posts, I’ll do my best to recap my latest Hawaiian experiences, and capture the entire ‘Aloha’ experience. But for now, here are a few photos that sum up my June trip.

About the author
