It’s not the fish and chips. Or their warm beer. It’s something that no trip to London would be complete without seeing, that you should definitely make the *time* for. Elizabeth Tower (renamed in 2012 for the 60th anniversary of the accession of Queen), or better known to most as the Big Ben.

Even the Lego Store at Leicester Square has got a replica of the tower

If you want a tour of the tower, you’re going to have to wait until 2021. As of August 21, 2017, the Big Ben is closed for four years for renovation. This means that the bell will remain silent for this entire duration. Originally, the construction was slated for the beginning of 2017. But when my friends and I visited in May of 2017, we were still able to hear those famous gongs. We lucked out. Even if you won’t be hearing the bell, it’s still a sight to see. The Big Ben as probably my favorite part of London.

Blurry shot, but could be a great one if you have something better than a smartphone camera, and you happen to be in the Blackfriar’s neighborhood
