barcelona 2019

My first trip in 2019 to Barcelona was also my first trip to Spain. It’s one of the places on my bucket list, so when I saw round trip, non-stop flights from Newark for about $300, it was a done deal. So Ben and I tacked two vacation days onto President’s Weekend, and got ourselves a 5-day adventure eating tapas, drinking wine, and admiring Barcelona’s architecture. Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to explore any other cities, but it was the perfect amount of time for Barcelona, and we fell in love with the city. Even considered it one of the places we’d eventually move to because it was so laid back. These are a few of my favorite shots from our travels:

About the author

hi! my name is melanie! i started this blog back in 2014. how to be a traveler is a collection of my travel experiences. my motto is, ‘travel, eat, drink, explore, write, repeat.‘ this blog is a tool to help me remember all the places i’ve seen, but it’s also a tool to help you plan out the places you will discover. and so that you won’t make the same mistakes i made. think of me as your very own travel guinea pig. so hopefully, you can find at least one useful tip while reading my blog. i hope you enjoy reading this as much as i enjoy writing it for you.
