I don’t normally write about food places on this blog. Yes, food is a huge part of the whole travel experience but that’s what my Yelp page is for. I like to keep things separate. That, and it’s just too many details for me to keep up with. There is too much information for me to go into depth about each and every topic. So in short, I guess you can say that it’s sheer laziness. But anyway, this particular place I’m going to tell you about does not have great food. The food isn’t even good. So why am I mentioning it then? Is the suspense killing you yet?
THIS IS THE REASON:
The Bondi Icebergs is a swimming club. You can become a member, or you can choose to use their pool for $6.50 per day. But it’s not just any swimming pool. It’s a saltwater pool. And the saltwater is from…you guessed it! Bondi Beach!
I can’t say much about the pool since I didn’t get a chance to use it. However, the view from the cafe upstairs is one you shouldn’t miss. Especially since this place is only about a 5-minute walk from the beach. The mediocre food that I had to endure was definitely worth it just to be able to see Bondi from a different point of view. If you have time, go check it out. And if you don’t have time, make time. One thing I’ll suggest – skip the food and just grab a drink!
